Calvin F. Tyler, born January 30, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026.
A bright student and proud Linden McKinley High School Panther, Calvin was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in working with his hands as a mover. He had a big heart and deeply loved his children and grandchildren. A devoted San Francisco 49ers fan and an amazing cook, he brought people together through both food and laughter.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Tyler, and his brother, James Tyler.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Charlene Redd; his children, Quincy Hale, Denia Brown, Deshawn Thurmond, Calvin Tyler, and Brandon Tyler; 14 grandchildren; siblings John, Angela, Greg (Caroline), and Leon Tyler; Favorite Aunt, Sally Farmer (Aunt Ann); childhood friends Bruce Jones, and Skip Smith; nieces and nephews; special cousins; The Young, The Earthman, and The Ray family; and many other cherished family members and friends.
