Carl Edward Moorer Sr.

Carl "Smoke" Moorer, Sr. was born on December 8, 1980 to Charlie Moorer and Clara Mae Moorer. He departed this life on September 11, 2026.

Carl was an intelligent young boy growing up, often tagged behind his siblings and cousins in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio until he could forge his way of life. Carl enjoyed collecting cars, training dogs, partying hard and exploring anything the world had to offer with his best friend Michael Smith in his teen years. Eventually leading him to becoming a proud grandfather, mobile car repairman and music connoisseur in his later years.

He leaves behind his mother: Clara Mae Moorer; his wife: Temika Wooden; his three older siblings: Charles Moorer, Claresa Moorer-Saunders (Glenn Saunders) and Carol Moorer. Alongside his eight children: Kiera Gregory, Daziré Wooden-Moorer, Carl Moorer, Jr., Paul Darby, Jr., Yasmin Cody, Yemaya Moorer, Yemir Moorer, and Yemoni Moorer; and grandchildren: Curt'ier Martin, Zechariah Townes, Trevaughn Guerrant, Jr. and Andrew Moore, Jr.; his niece: Tevonna King and nephews: Dallas Moorer, Demetreus Moorer-Saunders, Sherman Moorer and Dempsey Calhoun, Jr. who also survive him.

Smoke collected his GED, Welding and Sports Therapy certifications while incarcerated. He came home spent his career as not only a fitness coach, welder and mechanic but an huge influence in the community especially amongst the children. Coaching for The Midwest Ravens a little league football team and he was an entrepreneur owning his own LLC (CM Services) which was his proudest career achievement.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Moorer; nephew: Demarco Moorer and his childhood friend, Frederick Hughley.
