Cathy Curtis

July 31, 1958 — November 27, 2025

Cathy Jo Curtis, affectionately known to nearly everyone as Aunt Sissy, entered eternal rest on November 27, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on July 31, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, she lived boldly, loved deeply, and left a lasting imprint on every heart she touched.

Cathy was a woman who lived on her own terms — funny, feisty, fiercely loyal, and unapologetically herself from day one. Raised in Columbus, she built a life full of experiences, stories, lessons, and laughter. She was a resourceful survivor, a true hustler by heart, and a matriarch in spirit. Even with a little, she made people feel like they had everything. With her, a simple meal felt like a feast, a short talk felt like therapy, and an ordinary day felt special. She was the one folks turned to for advice, encouragement, entertainment, and sometimes to hear her tell it like it is.

Cathy was preceded in death by her mother Genevieve Curtis, brother Gary Curtis, and loved ones waiting on the other side. She is survived by her brother David Curtis (Denise), sister Tonya Lee, and her wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and chosen family. A special place in her heart was always reserved for her niece Natasha Le,e aka Tank, who brought joy, laughter, and that familiar spark of mischief into Cathy’s world.

Cathy may not have had children of her own, but she raised entire generations with guidance, humor, and unwavering acceptance. She loved without judgment, spoke truth with flavor, and lived life with passion and grit. She will be remembered for her energy, her honesty, and her ability to turn struggle into strength and ordinary moments into memories. We honor her legacy by loving one another wholeheartedly, showing up for family even when it’s hard, and embracing life with a little extra attitude — in her true spirit.

Rest peacefully, Aunt Sissy. Time here has moved on, and though you may not be physically with us, your presence remains — in our stories, in our laughter, and in the love you planted everywhere you went. We will carry your spirit forward, one laugh, one story, and one moment at a time.
