Charity was born December 15th, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Claudia Mae Tubbs and John Wesley Foster. She departed this life to be with the Lord on April 1, 2025.
At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ. She united and joined Pilgrim Missionary Baptist church and was an active member, singing in the mass choir until her health decreased.
Charity loved cooking and caring for her large family and dear friends whenever needed. Playing bingo and dancing was some of her favorite things to do and she could definitely crochet anything you wanted.
Charity was preceded in death by her first husband and children's father, Edward Shockley and second husband, Donald Ward; brothers, Horace and Pete Foster; sisters, Fannie and Charlene Foster, Anna Spain and Elizabeth Dulany.
She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Thomas Shockley (Mary) and David (Valerie) Ward; daughters, Tiffany Shockley, Denise Montgomery, Carissa (Joe) Cruz and Misty (Tony) Rinehart; granddaughters, Theresa Murphy, Mikael Woodfox, Thalia Shockley, Claudia Shockley-Mixon (Marquel), Selah Shockley, Nadia Shockley-Mixon, Mi'Marie India Moore, Xione Praise Jones, J Richardson and Hailey Cruz; grandsons, DeKimbe Locke, Jihad and Jahleel Shockley, Miles Gripper and Ethan Cruz; brothers, Jesse (Michelle) Foster of California, and Herbert Foster; two godchildren, Chelsi and Antuan Hairston; special friends, Deborah Boyce, Magellan Hairston, LaJoyce Daniel-Cain, Ethel Shelton, Timothy Herman, Rev Raymond Payne and Clinton Williams; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews.
