Charles Edward Williams

Sep 30, 1946 — Jul 12, 2026

Charles was born to the late Frank and Alice Searles Williams in Ashville, NC.

He served in the United States Army as a cook and was honorably discharged. He later moved to Columbus, Ohio with his older brother, Ulysses where he settled down and became a Buckeye. He also loved his Cleveland Browns and Michael Jordan.

He graduated from CIT (Columbus Institute of Technology). He became a master technician for Sinclair Broadcasting Group (ABC and FOX) where he retired.

Charles became a faithful member of the Miller Avenue Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and later became an elder.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Joyce Williams; son, James Douglas Henry; granddaughter, Sarita Nicole Edwards; his sisters, Pauline Jackson and Alfredia Anderson; and his brothers, LeRoy, Ulysses, Frank, Elbert and Clinton Williams.

He is survived by his Children: Regeane Ann Parker of NC and Lisa Marie Henry; Son: Mark Lamar Henry; his loving Sister: Arlene Williams Byrd; his Grandchildren: Alize Farris, Cheyenne (Lucas) Trout, Jaira (Adam) Tyson, Imani M. Spencer, Bria S. Searight, Brielle Culberson, James Douglas Henry II, Cameron Michael Henry, and Adam Tyson, Jr. along with a host of Nieces, Nephews and extended family plus his church family.

Charles took pride in everything he did from preparing dinner for his family to cutting his lawn, one of his favorite pastimes. He was very particular, and everything he did had purpose. He constantly taught and counseled. His footprint is wide and profound. He will be sorely missed.

"Well done, thy good and faithful servant," and in his words and voice his famous catch phrase: "Watch Out."

Till we meet again.

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
