Charles James

Charles Carlton “Cotton” James, a loving son, brother, uncle, father, and friend was born July 3, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio.

Charles was a graduate of East High School, then went on to serve in the United States Army. While growing up Charles was a member of Refuge Baptist Church. For many years he worked as a Bellman at various hotels around Columbus. One of his favorite things to do was build computers.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie M. James; father, Jack Martin; and brothers, Jackie James and Herman Bullock.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Jasmine Jackson; son, Shomarr James; uncle, John Garrett; sisters, Doris Thomas, Peggy Thomas, and Shirleen James; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends and family, including, Sunserai, Shikaylia, Selijah, Sheazar, Saraimmie, and Shirley.

Public Visitation 1:00pm Visitation 2:00pm and Funeral 3:00pm Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
