Cherone Quincy Hood, age 52, transitioned into eternity on July 31, 2025, at his home. Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 26th, 1973. He was loved by God and his family.
Cherone was a member of the True Light Army Church and enjoyed visiting St James Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Cherone was a visionary trailblazer and a great entrepreneur who took great pride in his work. Cherone owned his businesses, including a lawn care service, a mentoring business, Hood Inc. (Helping Others Open Doors), and he was a licensed barber and loved to cook. He had a passion for service to the community. He was passionate about family and friends. He enjoyed sports and was an avid University of Michigan fan (Go Blue!).
Cherone also enjoyed attending church and appreciated music and dancing. Cherone faced significant struggles, but he displayed perseverance in the face of adversity. People knew Cherone as Quincy and Q Money, but in the Kingdom of God, he was known as the spirit of Mercy. Cherone was strong and proud and had a great passion for life.
He is survived by his mother, Sherry (Robert) Walker. Four Children: Christopher (Charonda) Hewlett of Columbus, Ohio, Cherelle Hood of Lancaster, Ohio, Cherise Hood of Dayton, Ohio, and Cherone Monet Hood of Columbus, Ohio. Two sisters, Monique Hood of Columbus, Ohio, and Lacresha (Greg) Hollien of Detroit, Michigan. Three brothers: Jeremiah (Melissa) Walker, of Stockbridge, Georgia; Joshua (Faith) Walker, of Alexandria, Virginia; and Robert (Cara) Walker, of Columbus, Ohio. A special nephew, Anthony Hood. 12 grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, and church family.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Arthur Hood.
