Clarence Roger Taylor, Jr. was born July 25, 1954, to the Late Clarence Roger Taylor Sr. and Theodosia Taylor. He departed this life on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Grant Medical Center.
Affectionately known as "Roger" and lovingly called "The Mayor of the Terrace," Clarence was a man whose laughter could fill a room. His humor, quick wit, and unforgettable personality brought joy to everyone around him. If you heard his laugh, you knew exactly who it was. More than anything, Clarence was proud of his children.
Being a father was his greatest accomplishment and deepest joy. He had a special gift for grounding those he loved - he was the voice that could talk you off the edge, the steady presence in difficult moments, and a source of wisdom and strength. His love was unwavering and powerful.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Buddy and Catherine McDougall; his daughter, Jasmine Brown; his sister, Cynthia Taylor; his brother, Ronald Taylor; his granddaughter, Toniqua Thomas; his grandson, Jahaan Harris and his great-granddaughter, Ma'Rie Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memory his Beloved Wife of 44 years: Darlene Taylor; his Children: Latalsha (Bryan) Butts, Kamika (Michael) Sharp, Clarence "Lil Rog" Gossett, Lakisha Gossett, Seneca Seward, Felicia Alexander, Randolph Henderson, Todd Taylor, Mark Taylor, Sloan McGraw, Adeana & Ronald Wayne, Ramona Ferguson and Ronald Hogg. He also leaves behind his Siblings: Wanda Thomas, Michael Taylor, Jeffrey Taylor, and Carlos Taylor, along with an abundance of Great-Grandchildren whom he deeply adored.
Though he has departed this earthly life, his laughter, wisdom, strength and love will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
