Deborah D. Washington, affectionately known as "Bug" and "Little Debbie," of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on July 17, 2026, at The Ohio State University. She was born on February 23, 1963, and lived a life filled with love for her family, friends, and all those blessed to know her.
Deborah was a longtime employee and manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken and later retired from management at Skyline Chili. Through her years of hard work, dedication, and service, she touched the lives of many coworkers, customers, and friends.
Deborah loved riding motorcycles, especially with her nephew, Davin. She had a warm spirit, a love for adventure and a way of making each moment feel meaningful to those around her.
Deborah was preceded in death by her mother: Betty Jo Jacobs; her daughter: Cherie Washington; her grandson: Jeremiah Washington Jr.; her brothers: Mitchell Jacobs, Bennie Jacobs, Johnny Will Jacobs, and Lee Rico Jacobs; and her sisters: Laverne Jacobs and Annie Ruth Jacobs
Deborah is survived by her Children: Melissa (Twan) Washington, Candace Washington, and Jeremiah Washington and his wife, Kiara. She is also survived by her Sisters: Evonne Sutton, Eddie Dean Brown, Lynn (James) Alls, and Alicia "Poochie" Jacobs; and by her Brothers: Michael Washington, Richard Sutton, and Adolph Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memory her Grandchildren: Jaquan, Jaonna, Ayonna, MyQuan, Antwan, Kamryn, Jeremiah, Sir Anthony, Jermaine, Kamiya, Major, Kaylyn, and Mason; her Great-Grandchildren: ZiNiya and Ariya; a Special Niece: Maggie, and her husband, Kevin Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
Deborah will be remembered for the love she shared, the strength she carried, and the lasting memories she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit remains in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
