On February 23, 2026, an angel stopped by the home of Delores Brookins, and carried her to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 74.
Delores Brookins, affectionately known as "Dell" was born on January 29, 1952 to Clarence Brookins and Ellenstein Denson in Columbus, Ohio.
Delores received the Lord Jesus Christ at a very early age. She became a member of the Central Seventh Day Adventists Church where she served as both an Usher and a Deaconess. She enjoyed worshipping with her church family and participating on the church daily prayer line.
Delores was always very family oriented. She played a major role in the upbringing of many of her nieces and nephews and made it a priority to keep in regular contact with them as they grew into adulthood. She always looked forward to family gatherings and although she was soft-spoken, she was often times the life of the party. Her infectious smile lit up every room she entered.
Besides worshipping with her church members and spending quality time with her family, Delores truly enjoyed making crafts. She was very creative and spent a great deal of time designing various types of art pieces that she shared with those she held close to her heart.
She is preceded in death by her father: Clarence Brookins Sr.; mother: Ellenstein Hampton and three brothers: Clarence Brookins Jr., Tyrone Brookins and Dennis Hampton.
She is survived by two Sisters: Ronda Nivens and Deborah Brookins; four Brothers: Stanley (Jackie) Brookins, Michael (Brenda) Hampton, Kenneth Hampton and Darryl Brookins. She leaves a host of Friends and Family including several Nieces, Nephews and her beloved Niece/Caregiver: Chisa Nivens, to cherish her memory.
