Derrick Charles Cash, of Columbus, Ohio, passed from this earth on July 18, 2025. He was born on July 4, 1962, in Euclid, Ohio, to Parthenia Cash and Victor McKenzie (deceased). He spent many years with his grandmother, Annie Byrd, and her husband, James. “Big Mama” was very instrumental in Derrick’s life and helped him become the man we knew and loved. He lived in East Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Shaw High School in 1980. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from David N. Myers University. He studied and received several certifications, which helped his career.
Derrick met and made many friends from the churches he attended, as well as the places where he worked. He joined True Holiness in 1979, where he was saved. He was ordained as a Deacon and served on the Finance Committee. Later, he joined Mega Church, where he taught the new members' class. He was ordained as a minister under Pastor Lawrence Boone at Covenant Community Church. Moving to Columbus, he joined City of Grace where he enjoyed the music and the messages from Pastor Michael Young and his ministry.
Early in his life, he wrote a book on tithing. He created Bible games and was working on going digital. He wanted that to be his legacy.
