DeShawn Lavelle Ewans, born April 19,1975 in Columbus, Ohio, was a cherished son, brother and friend. He attended Columbus City Schools and worked at Home Depot for several years.
DeShawn had a kind spirit, a natural peacemaker, and a deep love for his family and friends. He was an avid fan of football and basketball, especially as a devoted supporter of Ohio State, never missing a game with his family and friends. He also was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, playing basketball and playing video games with his nephew. He also treasured spending time with his uncle and childhood friends.
DeShawn's earthly journey came to a peaceful end on April 30, 2026, surrounded by the deep love of his family and friends. Though our hearts are heavy, our faith comforts us, knowing his spirit lives on in the lives he touched, the love he gave and the enduring legacy of compassion he leaves behind.
He is preceded in death by his grandmothers: Princetta Ewans, Delores Ewans, Ludy Stewart and Mary Patterson; and uncle: Rubin Young.
He leaves to cherish his memory his Parents: Desanda and Jeffrey; his Biological Father: Lewis McClendon; his Sisters: Tereba, Shannon and Shameka; his Brother: Jeffrey Constant Jr.; Niece: Samonie; Nephews: Sanreeb, Ahmere, Ke'von, Shamar and Kayden; his Grandfather: Robert Patterson and a host of loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
