Eddy Griffin, III

Mr. Eddy Walder “Third” Griffin III, age 54, passed away on December 10, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on June 4, 1971, in Columbus, he remained a lifelong resident of the city he loved.

Eddy was the beloved son of Eddy Griffin II and the late Shelby Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Griffin, and his brother, Cedrick Griffin. He is remembered with love by his children, Jeffrey Cumberland and Deja Griffin-Franklin. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Leigha Cumberland, Lola Cumberland, Jeffery Cumberland Jr., Lovely Cumberland, and Nala Dixon.

He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Daynika Griffin and Ternika Griffin, and his brothers, Dwayne Cephus Riggs, Shawn, Nathaniel, and Chris.

Affectionately known as “Third,” Eddy had a magnetic presence that brought joy and warmth to those around him. He truly had a gift of gab—able to strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling. His humor was infectious, and his spirit lit up every room he entered. Whether through laughter, storytelling, or a heartfelt embrace, he had a unique way of making others feel valued and uplifted.
