Eleanor Brown

Eleanor Brown age 90. Sunrise October 27,1935 in Jackson, Mississippi and Sunset, June 6,2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Eleanor transitioned peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

Eleanor was a proud graduate of Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi. She moved to Mansfield, Ohio at the age of 27 where she worked, retired and resided for many years before moving to Columbus, Ohio. Her life was a testament to excellence and faith. She loved and adored her children.

She enjoyed preparing meals for holidays and family gatherings, and her home was always opened to neighbors and friends. Affectionately known as "Ms. Brown", to all those that knew and loved her, she enjoyed walking, solving word puzzles and sitting outside to enjoy the "good sunshine". She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh.

A devoted member of Mt. Hermon Church, she served faithfully as a Church Mother and cherished her church family and friends. She often spoke of how much she missed them.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her father: Pretty Brown; her mother: Odie Shelby Brown; and her grandsons: Trae Darson and Taylor Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved Children: Shirley Walker (Paris, Shantokie and Gillian Walker); Frenchie Melton (Montoya and Mario Brown, Robert Jr., and William Melton); Hymetia Darson (Tia, Tyrone and Taurus Darson); Lammon Douglas (Darrien and Jalen Douglas); Marie Brown; Arkevia (Jennifer) Brown (Sha'Terra and Alexandria Brown); Siblings: Denotra Smith and Otis Brown and a host of Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and dear friends.

Eleanor will be forever missed by all those who had the opportunity and pleasure of knowing and loving her.
