Eliner Joyce Gibson transitioned from her earthly life and this world on Friday, April 17, 2026 after a long battle of illness with cancer.
She was born on June 7, 1946 in Columbus, OH to the union of Thomas Edgar and Eliner Laura Elizabeth Dudley. She was the fourth of seven siblings.
She attended the Columbus Public School System and graduated from Central High School.
On May 10, 1968, she married the love of her life, Raymond L. Gibson, Sr. They were blessed with and raised their children; Janet, Raymond and Cealana in the Love of God and His inspired word.
"Joyce" enjoyed several creative past-time activities such as; macrame and making hanging planters. She enjoyed crafting earrings of copper but in the 1990's she found true joy in creating prayer and spiritual encouragement cards that she would always carry and was known to often pass them out to those she would meet; wherever she would go. She often sent these cards to her sister, Wilma in Alabama in order to spread the encouragement and word of God. These became a habit until her illness would no longer allow.
She developed a true sense of business as she worked beside her husband in their janitorial business. Joyce and Raymond also enjoyed spending time with each other while traveling to various areas of the country, as well as with family and friends until his death in 2021, after 53 years of marriage.
Of course things were not the same after Ray's death but, Joyce continued to uplift, encourage and pray for her family and others. If she knew of someone who asked for, desired or needed prayer, you could be assured without a doubt, she was praying for you and your situation.
Throughout her adult life, her faith in God carried her through many trials and tribulations. She found strength during her struggles; opportunities within obstacles and would give her testimonies (of God's grace) formed from tests.
Along with her husband Raymond, they joined Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church and remained faithful in their fellowship until (their) deaths.
Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Dudley and Eliner Dudley; maternal grandparents: Theodore and Nettie Terry; brothers: William, Thomas, Theodore and Karl Dudley and sister: Mary Green.
She is survived by her Children: Janet and Raymond (Ray) Jr., both of Columbus, OH and Cealana (Paul) of Niles, OH; Sister: Wilma (Ron) Lewis of Alabama; Grandchildren: Jillian, Sherman, Gabrielle, Cealana-Jennifer, Trevon, Alana, Xavier and Laila; Great-Grandchildren and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Special Friends.
