Elizabeth Marsh Adkison peacefully departed this earth on Thursday, January 1, 1026.
She was born on Saturday, February 5, 1944, to the late Willie and Lizzie Mae Marsh Sr. in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She moved to Mansfield, Ohio, in her early childhood. Elizabeth was a graduate of Mansfield High School. Elizabeth was a caring and loving mother, with profound and intense love of family. She was a very hard worker at whatever task she was facing. Elizabeth was a advid sports fan. She loved cheering on the Mansfield Senior high tygers, Ohio state Buckeyes, and Cleveland Browns.
Elizabeth attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church, where she served as an usher in her younger years. She was employed at several factory jobs, including General Motors, Independent Towel, and Jay's Plastic, where she retired after 35 years of service. There, she enjoyed organizing luncheons, holiday parties, and Buckeye tailgates.
Elizabeth never met a stranger and had a bright, contagious smile. She was always ready to extend a hand to those in need.
She enjoyed baking and cooking for family, neighbors, and friends.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Barrett) Brooks Sr., and her son, Donald (Crystal Davis Weese) Adkison.
Known affectionately as “MeMe,” “Granny,” and “Liz,” she was a doting grandmother of six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister Annie Weaver of Detroit, MI; one brother, Major (Ret) Ben Marsh of Newberry, SC; one sister-in-law, Bessie Marsh (Mansfield, OH); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lizzie Mae Marsh Sr.; her daughter, Annette Ewing; 5 brothers, Willie Marsh Jr., Johnny Marsh, Elijah “Eli” Marsh, Eddie Marsh and Larry Marsh; her sister, Bobbie Marsh; her niece, Jackie Marsh; her sisters-in-law, Viola Marsh, Joann Marsh, and Jarvis Marsh; and her uncle, Elijah Dawkins.
