Eloise Anita Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, peacefully departed this life on March 25, 2026, at the age of 87. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, strength, grace, and unwavering faith that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Born on August 11,1938, Eloise was the cherished daughter of Mary Helen Jackson and Tom Wylie. From an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. Her walk with God was evident in her kindness, humility, and the compassion she extended to others. Eloise was a woman of intelligence, discipline, and excellence. She graduated with honors from East High School, demonstrating early her commitment to hard work and achievement. She later continued her education atCuyahoga Community College, where she earned a certificate of completion in Accounting and Payroll-skills that would support a long and dedicated professional career. She began her working career at Halle's Department Store in Cleveland, Ohio, where she served as a sales representative. Eloise was admired for her professionalism, strong work ethic, and warm personality that made customers and coworkers alike feel valued.
She later transitioned to a position at BP's main headquarters in downtown Cleveland, working in the Payroll Department. There, she faithfully served for many years until her well-earned retirement, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and integrity. Eloise was united in marriage for a time to serviceman Lloyd Johnson. Although their lives later took different directions, that union remained a meaningful part of her life's journey and legacy. Above all, Eloise was a woman of heart. She possessed a nurturing spirit and a gentle strength that made her a pillar to her family and a blessing to all who encountered her. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and loved. Her wisdom, soft-spoken guidance, and warm smile left lasting impressions that will never fade. As a devoted mother, Eloise poured unconditional love into her children. She provided not only care, but guidance, encouragement, and strength. Her home was a place of comfort, and her presence brought peace and reassurance. Her laughter, her stories, and her loving nature created memories that will be treasured for generations. In the later years of her life,
Eloise relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where she was lovingly cared for and surrounded by the devotion of her son, David L. Johnson and his beloved wife, Itzia. During this time, she experienced continued love, comfort, and companionship. Her son Lloyd D. Johnson also remained a constant and faithful source of love, communication, and support throughout her life, reflecting the strong bond they shared.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents: Mary Helen Jackson and Tom Wylie; her mother: Ma Wallace; her father: T.C. Wallace and her brothers: Earl Wylie and Trent Wallace.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her loving Sons: Lloyd D. Johnson, David L. Johnson (devoted wife, Itzia), Johnny Lee Wallace and Pastor Earnest J. Wallace (wife, Evangelist Sonyette M. Wallace); her beloved Grandchildren: Taylor Johnson, Phelan Johnson, Jeffrey Price, and Jordan Price; her devoted Longtime Friend: Gladys Daniels; her Special Friends: Tom, W.T., Mrs. Jeanie, Amelia, and Sharon along with a loving host of Nieces, Nephews, Extended Family Members and many other special individuals whose lives were touched by her love and presence.
Though she has departed from this earthly life, Eloise's spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she loved. Her life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her legacy will continue through her family, her values, and the countless lives she impacted.
