Ernest Duaval Miller Sr

Ernest Duaval Miller, Sr., age 82, was born on October 6, 1943 in Pulaski, Virginia. The Lord called him home peacefully at his residence on October 9, 2025.

Mr. Miller graduated from high school in 1961and soon after proudly enlisted in the United States Army and National Guard. in 1978, he began his career as a communications Technician with Lucent Technologies, where he faithfully served until hi retirement at 21 years.

Ernest was a man of quiet strength and simple joys. He loved playing pool, watching WWE Raw, enjoying his Western Channel, and cheering on his Washington Commanders.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Gilda Miller, his mother Bertha Lee Grubb and his grandmother Ethel Grubb.

Ernest leaves behind cherished memories with his devoted son Ernest Duaval Miller II (Monique Bridges-Miller); his loving brother Edward "Tim" Gardner; his adored grandchildren, Eniya Miller, Monet Miller and Isaiah Mitchell; his godson Jermaine Harris; his brothers in law Jerome McWain and Jesse McWain Jr; and longtime friends Mr. Arthur Lee Johnson, Pastor Daniel Johnson and Dexter Thornton.

In accordance with Mr. Miller's wishes, there will be no public service. He will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
