Essie Lee Foley, 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Born in Doddsville, Mississippi on November 13, 1950, she was a proud graduate of South High School’s Class of 1968 and dedicated 44 years of service to Nationwide Insurance. Essie loved spending time with friends and family. Her bright smile and gentle spirit brought warmth to every room she entered.

Essie leaves behind her brother, Walker Lee Davis; sister, Pamela Davis; beloved grandchildren, Mahin Williams, Tonya Congdon, Jawanna Griffin, Clifford Robinson, and Brittany Blount; nine great‑grandchildren; three great‑great‑grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ada Clark and Clinton “Sunny Boy” Spanks; her husband of 47 years, Carl Foley; daughters, Lynn Lesley, Linda Johnson, and Diane Griffin; granddaughter, Sanequa Congdon; great‑grandson, Ste’Vaun Jessie; and brother, Tommy Tillman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
