Eugene "Goat" Garrison

Eugene “Goat” Garrison departed for his final fishing trip in heaven Friday May 16, 2025. (Grant Medical Center) in Columbus, Ohio. He was born March 13, 1939 in Greenville, SC to Silas Thomas and Ceatrice (Sales) Garrison. Eugene was employed at the Local 423 John Scales Construction where she retired in 1979.

Goat loved fishing, hunting, music, entertaining and cracking occasional jokes. If he was not on one of his many fishing trips he was giving back to his community. He spent many days volunteering at his local community center. Whether it was serving food or lending a helping hand he was always doing acts of service.

Goat is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Garrison; parents, Silas Thomas and Ceatrice Garrison; sisters, Sue Ellison, Clara Hudson, Roberta Walker, and Sally Gregory; and brothers, Thomas Clarence Garrison and Silas “Sonny” Garrison.

Goat leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Clara Garrison, Betty Walker, and Diane Allgood; sons, Eugene (Joyce) Garrison, Thomas (Gina) Garrison, Tony Mckinley, and Isaac Garrison; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; special cousin, Barbara Lomax; niece, Annetta Mcfarlin; nephew, Lamarcus Harris, and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Goat will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Until we see him again, we know he is Gone Fishing in Heaven.
