Fanny Marie Norris, aged 58, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, peacefully at her home in Columbus, Ohio.
Born on January 20, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Martha and Howard Norris.
Fanny was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. She shared a deep bond with her brother Benny Norris and sister Beverly Norris. She always talked about her late brother Howard Norris (Cindy Boothe), as well as her. She had a special relationship with her niece LaKesha Thompson and her great-nieces RoNesha and RaNyah Crawford, along with nieces Eliza, Amy, and Antoinette Norris. Fanny cherished her moments talking to her cousins Ann Marie Carreker and Marian Howard.
Fanny is also predeceased by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Known for her loving and outgoing personality, Fanny had a unique ability to brighten the days of those around her. Her contagious smile and warm spirit brought joy to everyone she encountered, and she affectionately referred to others as “Hon.”
A proud graduate of Marburn Academy, Fanny achieved remarkable milestones throughout her life, including winning a gold medal in gymnastics and a silver medal in basketball at the Special Olympics.
Fanny will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
In the words of 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NLT): “And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the Christians who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the Christians who have died.”
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Chapel of Peace, located at 5256 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. A viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Interment will occur immediately after at Evergreen Burial Park.
