Flora Mae Banks

FLORA MAE BANKS (BENNETT/HODGE)
Flora Mae was 81 years old when she went home to be with the LORD on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Columbus West Park Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Maysville, KY on February 14th 1927, she was the fourth oldest child (and last surviving child) of eleven children.

Although born in Kentucky, Flora Mae was raised in Ripley, Ohio were she attended Ripley-Union Schools and, for a short time, a high school in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She graduated from Ripley-Union High School. She was an outstanding student and athlete, who participated in track-and-field, winning numerous ribbons and trophies.

Flora Mae married John Henry Banks Jr. in 1950. With that union, they had two daughters, Lottie Marie and Mary Ethel. They were residents of Pondexter Village (
