George W Bolden, Jr., age 63 of Columbus, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Continuing Healthcare of Gahanna. George was born July 17, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late George W Bolden, Sr. and Marva Johnson Bolden. He was the second oldest of four children.George was a graduate of East High School and later received a Universal HVAC certification from Central Ohio Technical College. George was employed by Asarco, OSU Hospital, and Glick's Furniture Store and assisted with lawn care. George was a true outdoors person, as he had a passion for gardening and would make sure his mother had a garden and flowers each year. He loved to go fishing with his buddies so he could have a fish fry. During the summer months, especially on holidays, he would always grill and burn some of the food, specifically the hot dogs, and listen to loud music. He was affectionately known to some as Bugle, June Bug, Georgie 0, and, as a baby, Butter. In his younger days, his Dad, Grandpa Bolden, and Uncle Curtis taught him how toplay the electric guitar. While in high school, he was in a band called Radar and played throughout the city at local venues. In the summer, they would practice in the backyard. His dad also taught him how to work on cars, plumbing, and was handy when it came to fixing things around the house. With both parents born and raised in West Virginia, if you didn't know George, you would have thought he was born and raised there, too. As a child, he would visit during the summer and hang out with his Uncle Joe and cousins. George was very close to his mother; he helped take care of her in recent years. Being the only boy, just imagine the aggravation he gave his three sisters every chance he got.Always teasing, laughing, and telling stories. George was preceded in death by his father: George W. Bolden, Sr.; grandparents: Otha Bolden and Elizabeth Alexander; Henry and Elsie Johnson. George leaves to cherish his memory, his loving Mother: Marva Bolden; Three Sisters: Elizabeth Morton (Ronald), Angela Bolden, and Christina Bolden, all of Columbus, Ohio and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives, and Friends. |
