Glazella Collier, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1940, to the late Tony Barnum Sr. and Katherine Johnson Barnum.
Glazella was a kind and loving woman with a deeply motherly spirit. She found her greatest joy in caring for and nurturing her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was calm, gentle, and steady, yet fiercely protective of those she loved-never hesitating to show her strength when it mattered most. Her presence brought comfort, and her love created a sense of home wherever she was.
She enjoyed simple pleasures in life, including working on crossword puzzles, fishing, watching all her favorite game shows and keeping up with current events by watching the news.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: William Collier Jr.; her daughter: Katie Mae Collier; her parents; and her siblings: David Barnum, Debbie Barnum Sapp, Katherine Robinson, Pearlie Mae Pickett, Essie Mae Burcks, and Tony Barnum Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her Granddaughter: Letatia Collier; her Great-Grandchildren: Alexander Swanson (Jasmine Swanson), Mylina Ruff (Isaiah Carty), and Myles Ruff; and her Great-Great-Grandchildren: Sema'j Story, Xavion Swanson, Kaila Edgerton, Deshawn Johnson, Armani Ruff, and Kyrie Carty, along with a host of extended family and loved ones.
Glazella will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her quiet strength, and the fierce love she had for her family. Her legacy of care, protection, and devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her.
"She was a vessel of God's love-welcoming all with open arms, giving selflessly to those in need, and guided by a spirit of discernment that saw truth beyond what was spoken."
