Hattie Louise Harris

Hattie Louise Harris was born in Columbus, Ohio to William Mitchell and Josephine Harris on November 30, 1959. Hattie went from labor to reward on July 27, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Hattie attended Central High School in Columbus, Ohio and graduated in 1977. She also attended Tuskegee Institute, now known as Tuskegee University, in Tuskegee, Alabama. Hattie worked for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (CRC) for many years as a Corrections Officer and retired due to disability. She was a longtime member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church.

A lover of all things orange, Hattie was a diehard Nascar fan. Her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. You could also hear her yelling "Who Dey!" in support of her favorite football team the Cincinnati Bengals. Hattie was also an avid photographer. She captured countless memories of her family and friends at every event or gathering. She enjoyed serving others by providing them with a place to stay, never knowing a stranger and making you feel welcome with a cheerful, boisterous, and loving greeting, hug and kiss.

Hattie adored her grandchildren! They kept her busy! Above all, they were her number one interest! She also loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She would fly to the moon and back for them!

Hattie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Pansey Harris, her mother: Josephine Harris; her father: William Mitchell and her bonus sister: April Freeland.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her Uncle: Frank Harris, Sr.; her Son: Joseph (LaVonne) Harris; her Sisters: Neva (Harold) Dunn, and Lisa (Shawn) Cole; her Brother: William (Elizabeth) Harris; her Grandchildren: Joseph, JoVon, Zacari and Zeilani Harris; Bonus Daughter: Kamdyn Noble and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
