Isaiah "Zay" Hairston

With heavy hearts and deep love, the family of Isaiah “Zay” Hairston announces his peaceful passing on November 16, 2025, at the age of 26. Born on April 1, 1999, Isaiah entered this world with a bright spirit that only grew stronger with time. He will be remembered for his unforgettable humor, his magnetic personality, and the way he lit up every room he entered. Isaiah was the life of the party—full of laughter, energy, and warmth—and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity and joy touched countless lives.

Isaiah was the beloved son of his mother, Shamika Brown, with whom he shared an especially deep and treasured bond. Her love and guidance shaped so much of who he was. He was also a loving son to his father, David Lunsford. Isaiah was cherished by his grandmother, Drema Hairston; grandfather, David Lee Jackson; and great-grandmother, Betty Gary. He proudly embraced his role as Godfather to his Godson, Ky’mire Hall.

He leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Isaiah is survived by his brothers: Jeremiah Hairston, Shelton Sutton, Josiah Sutton, David Lee Lunsford Jr., James Dion Lunsford, Devante Lunsford, and Devontray Lawler; and by his sisters: Shakeya Sutton, Emaya Sutton, Zuri Sutton, Keisha Monique Morris, Daviana Lunsford, Dejanae Lunsford; Aunt Iesha Hairston and Uncle Johnathan Hairston.

Isaiah is preceded in death by his stepfather, Elton Sutton; his best friend, Tahzje Patterson; and his grandmother, Lily May Lunsford. Though he has departed from this earthly life, his love, laughter, and spirit will continue to echo in the lives of all who knew him.

Isaiah’s legacy is one of joy, compassion, and loyalty. His presence made life brighter, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled. His family and friends will forever remember him as a loving son, brother, grandson, godfather, uncle, and friend.

May his soul find eternal rest, and may those who loved him find comfort in the precious memories he leaves behind.
