James Bell Jenkins Il, affectionately known as “BigHead”, left this world on April 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and boundless creativity, bringing joy to all who knew him.

From his beginnings in Warren to his later years in Columbus, Ohio, James’s journey was marked by a relentless pursuit of his passions. He attended Walnut Ridge High School and continued his education at Central State University, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Throughout his life, James was known for his magnetic personality and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether through his music, or his infectious laughter, that brought joy to those around him. Despite his playful nature, James held a deep reverence for his family, and the understanding of the profound impact they had on his life.

As we mourn the loss of James Bell Jenkins II, let us also celebrate the vibrant life he lived and the lasting impact he made on the world. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

James was blessed with four children, Cataleya A Jones, Jayonna Jones, James B Jenkins III and Ja Reek Semaj Jenkins. James shared a special bond with his siblings, LaTia Hampton (Charles Hampton III), Ashley Jenkins, Perry Jenkins (Shakera Jenkins), Dwaine Smith Thomas (Misty Thomas), Jonavon Farris, Robert Farris, De’Veon Smith (Olivia Smith), and Yniece Smith Thomas. James was also survived by his uncles, Parish Jenkins (Stephanie Jenkins) and Willie Thomas; his aunt, Michelle Thomas as well as 15 nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Laquitta Jenkins Butler; his father, Dwaine Thomas; his uncle, Eddie Thomas; and grandmothers, Mary Jenkins and Marie Thomas.

Rest in peace, BigHead. Your memory will be cherished, and your spirit will live on in the lives of those you touched.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2024 at Meredith Temple COGIC, 1158 Mt. Vernon Ave.
