James (Jamie) Lamar Moore, age 49, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2026. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
James was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Mark Barnes and Glynnda Moore. He graduated from Columbus Alternative High School and earned an associate degree from Columbus State Community College. He was a devoted son, loving father, and loyal friend who always found ways to make people laugh and feel welcome around him.
James had a big heart and a personality that could light up any room. He loved people and he loved life. Throughout his life, James worked in several roles and was known for his strong work ethic. He worked at Max & Erma’s and Walmart, where he built friendships with many coworkers and customers over the years. In his free time, he also worked driving for Lyft and DoorDash, always staying busy and doing what he could to provide and stay connected with people in his community.
James will be remembered for his humor, kindness, compassion, and the love he had for his family and friends. He was someone who took pride in the people he loved and was always quick to share stories, laughter, and advice. His presence brought comfort and joy to many, and the memories he created with those around him will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Mark Barnes; Grandmothers Peggy Ann Moore and Antoinette Barnes; Grandfathers Simon Price and Bernard Blackwell; Uncles Juan “Gary” Barnes, Michael (Rhonda) Barnes, and Byron Barnes; Aunts Stacy Williams, Erica Barnes, and Leslie Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Wife Maxine Loney; Loving Mother Glynnda Moore; Daughter Miyah (Keith) Reavish; Grandfather Ronald Moore; Aunts Alison Barnes, Jessica Burkhart, and Rhonda Curtis; Siblings Bronshay Barnes, Michael Barnes, Mark Barnes Jr., Tonisha Elder, Marquan Barnes; Nieces and Nephews Torihan, Khyndre’, Jeziah, Kendrick, Kendahl, and Daya; A host of Cousins, Extended Family Members, and Friends who will continue to honor his memory and carry his spirit with them.
