Jason McKinnis

Jason McKinnis was born August 8, 1972, in Kankakee, IL, to father Emil McKinnis and mother, Claudia Ann Hardy.

Jason was one of the smartest and intelligent man we all knew. A man who kept to himself. When he was your friend, he was a real friend. He worked at Shiseido in maintenance for 10 years and loved it.

Jason will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Gwen Thomas, who they both loved to share their zodiac sign “Leo’s”.

Jason will be remembered for his jokes, smiles, and laughter. He loved to go out to eat. He liked to bowl and sit around the firepit on cool nights in the backyard. He also enjoyed playing on his PS5 as Gwen would just watch. Jason's joy of his live were his grandchildren, who is loved to spend time with, play games, and hear them laugh.

Jason McKinnis departed this life on December 1, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Gwendolyn Thomas of Columbus, Oh; son, Malik Mckinnis of California, Jason McKinnis of California, Darvale Thomas of Columbus, Oh; daughters Victoria Harvill of Kankakee, IL, Shay Thomas of Columbus, Oh; brothers Darryl Hardy, Mark Alston, David Alston of California; sisters, Patricia Austin, and Diane Alston of California; grandchildren Cody, Corda, Kaden, Giovanni, Kameron, and soon to be an addition to our family. As well as a host of other relatives and friends.
