Jesse Constant

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jesse Alphonso Maurice Constant. Jesse was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 6, 1980 to Martha Smith and Stanley Constant. He peacefully passed at his home surrounded by family on January 29, 2025. 

Jesse is proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather Philip C. Smith and paternal grandmother Mary Madgeline Patterson, and Aunt Tyra L Branch.

Jesse was a 1998 graduate of Eastmoor High School. Jesse was employed with Goodwill Columbus North. Jesse had a passion for art, music and dogs. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and drawing pictures for any and everyone. Jesse enjoyed traveling and seeing the ladies and was known for his kind spirit.

Jesse was full of commentary that kept us in awe and stitches. Jesse had some challenges in life but never considered himself disabled or unable, rather saw himself as fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Above all, Jesse’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, creating lasting memories and offering unconditional love. A few days before Jesse’s passing, he woke from a nap and with resolve and great peace, he shared with us that he was GOING HOME. Jesse was clear to let us know that he was not speaking of a house made by hands, rather he had his eyes on a city made by God and understood there was a place there prepared for him.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memory his mother Martha (Derrick) Chisley Sr., father Stanley A. Constant Sr., grandmother Jacquilla M. Smith, grandfather Robert L. Patterson, sister Jessica L. Grange, brothers Stanley A. Constant II, Bryant S.A. Constant, Stacey T. Grange, cousins/sisters Tanna M. Smith, Tacara Bitting, cousin/brother Carl S. Smith II. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A going home celebration will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 Love Zion Baptist Church, 1459 Madison Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. with the service following at noon.
