Jessica Lynette Smith departed this life peacefully in her sleep on April 23, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1982, in Gary, to Lester R. Mix and Althea Smith.
Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents; her brother, Phillip Smith; her devoted sons, Caleb Smith and Malachi White; and her beloved companion, Dana White. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will all miss her greatly.
Jessica was born and raised in Gary, Indiana and later relocated to Columbus, Ohio during her high school years. She excelled academically and proudly graduated from Northland High School, Class of 2000. Following high school, Jessica served her country in the United States Navy.
Jessica loved the color pink and was known for her bright, radiant personality. Her laugh was contagious, and her joy could light up any room she entered. She loved music, dancing, cooking, and spending time with the people she loved most. Jessica truly enjoyed life and was often the life of the party, bringing energy, laughter, and unforgettable memories everywhere she went. She also loved shopping and could always find joy in picking out something special for herself or for the people she loved.
Above all, Jessica loved her sons deeply. Caleb Smith and Malachi White were the center of her world and her greatest accomplishments. Being their mother brought her the greatest happiness and purpose in life. She spoke of them with endless pride and unconditional love, and anyone who knew Jessica knew how much her boys meant to her.
In her final days, Jessica found a sense of peace and happiness that brought comfort to those who loved her. She had recently moved into a new home and was excited for the fresh start and new memories ahead. Those closest to her take solace in knowing that her last days on earth were filled with peace, love, and hope for the future.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
