It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Jill Ann Washington on June 21, 2026. Jill left this world surrounded by the warmth of her home, after a life dedicated to kindness, family and community.
Born on October 9, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, Jill was the cherished daughter of the late Berthelia and Otis E. Washington. Her early years in Columbus were marked by the nurturing love of her parents and the vibrant energy of her community. Jill's educational journey saw her graduate from Beechcroft High School before she furthered her studies at Columbus State Community College and Ohio Dominican College, laying the foundation for a fulfilling career.
Jill dedicated over three decades to the State of Ohio Department of Taxation, where she served with integrity and diligence, touching many lives with her professionalism and warmth before retiring in 2013. Her commitment to excellence was evident in every role she embraced, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond her professional life, Jill was a member of the Columbus Christian Center Church. Her faith was a guiding light, reflected in her generous spirit and her unwavering kindness. A vibrant member of the Mary Kay Cosmetics family, Jill's passion and dedication were recognized with the honor of earning her Red Jacket, marking over 30 years as an active consultant.
Jill's life was a tapestry of rich and varied interests. A talented and enthusiastic cook, she delighted in creating dishes that showcased the fruits of her labor from her beloved vegetable garden. Her love for crocheting and knitting brought warmth and comfort to those around her, while her thirst for adventure led her to travel across the country, gathering stories and friendships along the way.
Known for her bubbly wit and charismatic smile, Jill had an innate ability to make others feel welcome. Always ready with a piece of advice or a slice of her famous cheesecake, her home was a sanctuary of laughter and love. Her legacy is one of compassion and generosity, having touched countless lives with her kindness and grace.
Predeceased by her beloved parents: Berthelia and Otis, Jill's reunion with them is a comfort to those she leaves behind.
Jill is survived by her loving Sister: Jeana, and Brother-in-Law: Kevin Feehan; her cherished Nephew: Gavin Feehan; along with the extended Washington and Joyce families, who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Jill Washington will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. As we bid farewell, let us remember Jill with the warmth, laughter, and love she so freely gave to the world.
