John Ulysses Holmes, Sr., age 81. Sunrise December 28, 1934 and Sunset May 1, 2016. John was a veteran of The U.S. Army, and retired from Anheuser Busch. He is predeceased by his parents, Julia Harris and Harold Holmes; son, Tony Holmes; brothers, Robert and Jimmy Holmes. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Rose Holmes; daughters, Velma Bonner, Virgina Bonner, Marie Carey, and Marylin Thompson; sons, Osbia Bonner and John Holmes, Jr.; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation 10am and Funeral 11am Friday May 6, 2016 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE 2500 Cleveland Ave., Columbus, OH.
