Judith, affectionately known to everyone as “Judy,” passed away on March 22, 2026, at OhioHealth Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio.
Judy was born on April 2 to Atty. James Taylor Sr. and Gabrielle Robinson Taylor in Cleveland, Ohio.
Judy graduated from Lincoln Institute in Simpsonville, Kentucky. She later graduated from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, where she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Judy taught 3rd grade for 30 years at Louis Pasteur Elementary School in Cleveland, Ohio.
Judy was Vice President of the Cleveland Teachers Union. She was also a member of the NAACP and contributed to the National Democratic Party.
After retiring, she joined her husband, Rev. Johnny K. Cunningham, in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. She became a member and the First Lady of First Baptist Church in Berea, Kentucky. She was also a member of the Kentucky Ministers’ Wives and remained faithful to her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta.
Judy was always a support to all the children in her family and her extended family over the years.
Judy loved traveling throughout the United States and Europe over the years.
Judy is survived by her Nephews: Leon (Udona) Spears, Marcus Spears, and David Dolle; niece: Nicole Dolle; Great-Nephew: Raymond Dolle; In-Laws: Linda Hudson and Betty Cunningham; Godchildren: Nelson Devezin, Tabitha Logan, and Shakayla Rainey; Cousins: Jerome, Delphine, Winnie, Freddie, Anita, Jennifer, Candy and Tony and Friends: B. Bryant, Evelyn, Wanda, Joanie, Jackie, Rachel and Backari.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Johnny K. Cunningham; her father: Atty. James Taylor Sr.; her stepmother: Maimie Taylor; her mother: Gabrielle Harris; stepfather: Otis Harris; her brother: James Taylor Jr.; her sister: Mollie Dolle' her husband Herman Dolle'; her brother-in-law: Herman and close friends: Sharon and Judge Lillian Green.
