J’Vontia Marshay Cassell was born on June 26, 2000, and departed this life far too soon on September 21, 2025, at the age of 25.
J’Vontia was more than just a son, father, brother, and friend—he was a light. To know him was to feel his warmth, his loyalty, and his love. He carried himself with strength, but also with a heart that was soft and caring. He had a way of making people laugh at the hardest times, and his energy filled every room he walked into. J’Vontia loved deeply and unapologetically, and the bonds he created with those around him will remain unbroken.
His greatest pride and joy in life was being a father. He leaves behind his two beautiful daughters, Ja’Niya Hall and Armani Battle, who were his world and the reason behind his brightest smiles. He treasured every moment he had with them, and though his time was cut short, his daughters will forever carry his spirit within them. Their loving mothers, Daisha Hall and Deja Battle, will continue to help keep his memory alive so that his girls always know the depth of their father’s love.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Marshall Cobb; his mother, Dolores Cassell; and a large and loving family who will miss him dearly. His siblings include Antonio Chatman, Mykela Bondurant-Cassell, Yazmyn Bondurant-Cassell, Kanderan Cassell, Michael Robinson (Rachel), Marcus Oliver, Calvin Godsey, Makiek, Marshall, Martice Cobb, Yashica Walden (Terrell), Marchall Swanson (Scott), and Shakira Johnson. J’Vontia also shared a special bond with his nephew and niece, Jomarion Thompson-Cassell and Nilajah Pollard, who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Antwaun Cassell, and his grandparents, David Hudson and Candince Jeffers. We find comfort knowing they are reunited in spirit, watching over the family with love.
J’Vontia’s life, though short, was filled with meaning. He was known for his laughter that could brighten anyone’s day, his protective nature toward his loved ones, and the way he never hesitated to show up for those he cared about. He was loyal, fun-loving, and deeply rooted in family. He also leaves behind his devoted girlfriend, Na’Taie, who stood by his side with love and support. Together, they shared memories and moments that will forever be cherished.
To those who knew him best, J’Vontia will be remembered not only for the love he gave but for the legacy he leaves behind: one of family, laughter, resilience, and a reminder that even in a short time, a life can touch countless hearts.
A celebration of J’Vontia’s life will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the love, joy, and light he brought into this world.
“Though his time was short, the love he gave will last forever. J’Vontia will remain in our hearts—gone, but never forgotten.”
