Kamal, born November 23, 2001 in Columbus, OH to Ruth Glenn and Brandon Walters. Educated at Berwick, AMES and Eastmoor Academy in Columbus City Schools and graduated 2020 where he played with the Eastmoor Warriors football and basketball teams. Also attended Ohio Dominican University.
Kamal enjoyed football, basketball, fishing and skateboarding. He was a life member of the Eastland Vikings Association, a player on numerous AAU teams: OSYP and Hidden Gems, and active as an adult with Watson League.
Kamal accepted Christ in his childhood at the Columbus Bible Way Church.
He was super friendly, smart, willing to learn and ambitious. A loving young man, caring, compassionate, and giving. He was the peacemaker with the most distinctive laugh and a replica and personality of his PaPa Walters: soft spoken, handy man and wanted to be a role model for his younger siblings.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers: David A. Glenn, Sr. and Ronald T. Walters, Sr.
Kamal was loved dearly and those left to cherish his memory are his mother and father, Ruth Glenn and Brandon Walters; grandmothers: Margarita Rebollebo Glenn and Vicky Walters; brothers: Malik, Eldridge, Zion, Maleki and Micah; his sister, Sanaeja; aunts and uncles: Marilynda (Bryan) Johnson, Kwaku (Jakia) Glenn, David Glenn, and Ronald T. (Samantha) Walters, II; great uncles and aunts; and, special aunt, Lakia Phipps.
The Glenns and Walters were fruitful and did multiply. There are a host of cousins – too numerous to list here – who love him, who ran with him and who will truly miss him, especially Da’lan, Michael, Tajaj, Taryn, India, Yazmeen, Na’eema, Audrina, and Olivia. Kamal was “Bubby” or “Mal Mal” to many, many very close friends, especially Bryshon and MaKayla, and the love of his life, Keila Gomes.
