Karen Yvonne Boler

Karen Yvonne Boler, formerly Karen Yvonne Mathews and Johnson, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at the age of 65.

Karen was born on November 7, 1960, in Huntington, West Virginia. She spent her childhood and adult years in Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1978. Later in life, Karen made her home in Temple Hills, Maryland, where she continued to build meaningful relationships and create memories with those she loved.

Karen was known for her contagious smile, warm heart, and genuine kindness. She had a caring nature and a remarkable ability to always know the right thing to say or do to make others feel less alone during difficult times. She never hesitated to help someone in need, and her door was always open to family and friends. Karen had a special way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and important. She believed it was important to remember everyone's name and to make each person feel special-a simple gesture that reflected the thoughtful and loving person she was.

Karen lived life with joy and a love for the people around her. She loved to sing, dance, listen to music, travel, and spend time with her close friends and family. She was passionate about her work and deeply devoted to her faith and her church.

During her later years in Temple Hills, Karen was a faithful servant to the Lord and to the house of Spirit of Faith Christian Center, now known as Faith City Central. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy in serving God and being part of her church family.

And for those who knew her well, they knew there was one simple favorite that always brought her joy: Pepsi.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Grace A. Proctor, and her father, John A. Moore Sr. She now joins them in eternal rest.

She leaves behind her three daughters: Tiffany Nicole Angle, Chelsea Lyneé Johnson, and Fallyn Monique Johnson; her beloved grandchildren: Royce Mathews-Anderson, Tylo Mathews, and Tyauna Angle; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Amir Hogan, Amor Hogan, and Quincy Angle.

Karen's greatest legacy will be the love she gave so freely. She had a gift for making people feel cared for, supported, and never alone. Her laughter, her beautiful smile, her generosity, her faith, and the countless memories she created will remain a part of the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Although her absence will be deeply felt, Karen's love, laughter, and memories will continue to live on through her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, church family, and all those whose lives she touched.

She was a beautiful presence in this world, and her love will remain long after her passing.
