Kendra Jackson

Affectionately known as Nonna, Ken, Booty, Louise, Bestie, and BF, Kendra was born on June 27, 1977, to Godfrey "Pepper" Peaks and Michele Jackson. Kendra was educated in Columbus City Schools. Her love for performance and school spirit began when she served as a mascot with the Linden-McKinley Drill Team. She later became a member of the Whetstone High School Drill Team.

At an early age, Kendra gave her life to Christ under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Donald J. Washington. As a young person, she was active in the church, singing in the Youth Choir and participating in the Youth Ministry. Her early foundation of faith remained an important part of her life.

Kendra was the proud and loving mother of three beautiful children, Shameya, She'Mahni, and Vaughn III, and two bonus children, Brianne and Adriana. One of her greatest joys was being "Nonna" to her beloved grandchildren, Camden, Teagan, Camiya, and Tatum, who adored her. She was also a loving sister to Khiya Jackson, Maisha Blalock, Natasha (Joseph) Harkless, Nathaniel Clodfelter, and Robyn Clodfelter.

Family meant everything to Kendra. She treasured spending time with her loved ones and friends and was happiest when everyone was together. Her home was often the gathering place for parties, cookouts, laughter, good food, and plenty of line dancing. She had a special way of bringing people together and creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Kendra was caring, attentive, and deeply concerned about the people she loved. She made it a point to check in regularly with family and friends and was known as the person everyone could turn to when they needed help, advice, encouragement, or simply someone who cared. In true Kendra fashion, she even kept an eye on everyone's location, not to be nosy, but to make sure the people she loved were safe and exactly where they said they would be. Her watchful and loving spirit was just one of the many ways she showed how much she cared.

Throughout her career, Kendra was employed by Thirty-One Gifts and JPMorgan Chase before continuing her professional journey with the United States Postal Service, where she worked for five years.

Kendra was preceded in death by her father, Godfrey "Pepper" Peaks; granddaughter, Ava Reign; grandparents, Evon and Evelyn Peaks and William and Eugenia Jackson; aunts, Demetrice Cross-Battle, Cheryl Jackson, Bettie Peaks, and Gloria Peaks; uncles, Forrest Garrett, Gary Jackson, Curtis Peaks, Sr., Don Peaks, Mark Peaks, Don Smith, Emmett Smith, Jr., and Ernest Staunton; and cousins, Ciatonya Davis, Melany Garrett, Shannon Jackson, Jeffrey Peaks, Yolanda Peaks-Bell, and Tyler Simmons.

Loving memories of Kendra will be forever in the hearts of her mother, Michele Jackson; children and bonus children; grandchildren; siblings; and a loving circle of aunts, Jeanette Garrett, Brenda Jackson, Bernice Smith, Teresa Smith, and great aunts, Blanche Peaks, age 95, Helen Peaks, age 98, Mabel Turner, age 99, and Jeanette Jackson, age 101; uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, Grandma Shelby and Nanna Lynn, and countless friends whose lives were touched by her love, laughter, generosity, and unforgettable spirit.

Kendra will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
