Kenneth W. Shepard Sr, was a cherished member of the Mansfield community. A loving and devoted husband and father, Kenneth gracefully departed this world on August 4, 2026, at the age of 93. Kenneth was born on December 29, 1932, in Beckley WV. Kenneth touched the lives of so many through his incredible dedication and unwavering commitment to helping others.
After completing his education in the Beckley, WV. School System. He enlisted in the Arm Forces (Army) where he earned an Honorable Discharge. Kenneth did seek new horizons and relocate to Mansfield, OH. It was there that he met, the love of his life Inez where they did wed. Afterwards he did become employed with the Federal Government Agency (GSA) then retired after 43 years.
Kenneth often expressed his gratitude to his faith and spirituality, having been raised in the church at such a young age in Beckley WV. He found solace and strength as a devoted member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, where his presence was treasured by the Congregation.
Outside of his professional achievements Kenneth found joy in the simple pleasure in life which included fishing, bowling and an avid golfer. Kenneth also enjoyed working in the yard and watching sports, his favorite teams were the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.
Kenneth will always be remembered as a dedicated educator, a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, a cherished brother, and friend.
He is preceded in death by wife: Inez Shepard; parents: James and Sarah Shepherd; sisters: Gertrude Moore, Delores Tuck, Lucille McDaniel, and Norma Rowe; brother: James Shepherd; grandson: Terris Shepard and daughter-in-law: Sandra Duty.
His memory will be carried on by Sons: Kenneth (Patricia) Shepard Jr., Charles (Charlene) Shepard, Phillip Duty, Garry (Lareta) Duty; Daughters: Sharon Shepard-Wright and Sheila (Bryon) Reed; Brothers: Donald (Lois) Shepherd and Findley Shepherd and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and Honorary Niece: Lynette Motley.
In this time of grief, let us remember Kenneth W. Shepard Sr as an extraordinary man : a beacon of light, a guiding force, and a source of inspiration may his legacy live on to all who life he touched.
