Kenyatta “Yatta” Bosley, 52, passed away on March 18, 2025. Born on May 20, 1972, in Columbus, Ohio, Kenyatta was a vibrant and loving soul who brightened the lives of everyone around him.
Kenyatta attended Brookhaven High School. Kenyatta worked as the Head Cook and was known as the Best Cook at both McDonald’s and Wendy’s and always brought his signature smile and positive attitude to the workplace. His incredible energy and passion for life were evident in everything he did, especially when it came to his love for music. A talented lyricist, Kenyatta loved writing his own rap music, sharing his creativity with friends and family, and spreading the joy that music brought him.
Kenyatta was also a deeply faithful and praying man. He had a strong relationship with God, and his faith was central to his life. He would often walk to the First Church of God on his way to work, making time for prayer and reflection. Kenyatta was also known for his faithfulness in paying his tithes, an act of love and dedication to his beliefs.
Known for his humor, Kenyatta had a natural ability to make everyone around him laugh. His jokes and infectious laugh would light up any room, and he always knew how to bring a smile to people’s faces. His warm personality and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and he could always be counted on for a good time.
Kenyatta was a devoted and loving family man, and his heart was big enough to embrace everyone. He had a special place in his heart for his family, and he loved them all so much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Clark and Charles Bosley Sr., and his brothers, Eric Bosley, Aaron Bosley, Marlon Bosley, and Larry Bosley.
He leaves behind his beloved common-law wife, Deanna Porter. He was also a proud stepfather to his stepchildren, Alicia Porter, Brandon Porter, Connor Porter, and Elaysha Porter, as well as a loving step-grandfather to Zyaire Wright, Zyariah Wright, Zyrie Wright, and Terrell Porter.
Kenyatta’s siblings—Charles Bosley Jr., Victor Bosley, Anthony (Pam) Bosley, Joyce Crockett, Elaine (Leon) Champion, and Tammie Handy—held a special place in his heart.
Kenyatta was very close to his cousins Stephen A Smith, Julie Smith, and Tameka Bosley, and he deeply loved all his family, which includes numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Known for his warmth, humor, and the love he had for everyone in his life, Kenyatta’s memory will live on in the laughter and joy he spread. His presence will be missed, but the love and light he brought to this world will never fade.
