Larry Petty

Mr. Larry J. Petty, age 69, was born on August 1, 1956, and peacefully transitioned on January 9, 2026. Larry was a proud graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. He was a devoted and accomplished karate enthusiast, as well as a talented painter and artist whose creativity and discipline reflected his passion for life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mable Petty and Walter Jones; his brother, David Petty; his sister, Michelle Reed; and niece Ashlee Petty.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted daughters, Maya Pearce (Jeff Pearce), Lakeyia Hudson, and Crystal Wilson (Reggie Wilson); and his cherished bonus children, George Wilson and Kelia Wilson.

He is also survived by his sisters, Venita L. Petty and Fontella Brown, and his aunt, Alice Reed; a very special niece and nephew, LaToya Petty and Jamal Petty; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
