Deacon Larry Joe Riley Sr. departed this life on April 21, 2026. Larry was born in Columbus, Kentucky, to the late Fred Douglas and Julie Marion Riley.

He received his education at Franklin Junior High School and began his career at DCSC before spending many fulfilling years at Buckeye Steel. Larry completed individualized training program at Gram Tech. Larry joined Bethel Baptist Missionary Church 43 years ago where he was ordained to be a Deacon .

Larry was predeceased by his beloved parents, his son: Shawn D. Riley and his three brothers: Gene, Fred Jr. and Marion Riley.

He leaves behind a cherished legacy, including his Devoted Wife: Pamela Riley; and his loving Children: Elita Gordon, Larry Delan, Larry (Malinda) Riley Jr., Gary (Renee) Riley, and Tarajjee Courtney, DeShannon (Tenisha) Butler Sr. and Ishia Harris

Larry is also survived by his Siblings: Eddie Mae Sowell, Colbert (Cathi) Riley, Bobby (Phyllis) Riley, Shella Gibson, Howard (Sherry) Riley, Martha Riley, and Donald (Anita-Faye) Riley. He will be greatly missed by a host of Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren and Larry's Sisters-in Law: Mary-Ann Riley, Barbara (Gregory) Koeger, Marva (Robert) Bozeman, Jacquelynn (Richard) Sowell, Kimberly (Russell) Ragland of Cario, Egypt.

Throughout his life, Larry was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. A devoted Deacon, he touched the lives of many within his community and church. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In this difficult time, we ask that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
