Lavurne Morgan

April 21, 1959 — August 7, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Leverne Morgan, at age 66, she joined our father who art in heaven. She departed on August 7th, 2025, after many issues with her health. Leverne was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be forever missed, and we will remember her by her beautiful smile and the memories she gave us. We will remember her not by the grief of her passing, but by her willingness to help anyone in need, her tenacious and humorous personality, her laugh that lifted every room she entered, and, last but not least, her wonderful cooking that brought both friends and family together.

Lavurne was born in Monroe, Georgia, to parents Mary Lou Pressley and Grady Hardy Whaley on April 21st, 1959. She was smart from childhood, and portrayed her wit in every joke, remark, and conversation she held. Laverne was a Golden Glove champion at Windser Terrace Community Center. Ms.Morgan graduated from Miflin High School in 1977, soon after becoming both a wife and mother. She had three beautiful daughters, Latanya, Sherica, and Mary Lou. Raising them to be the beautiful women they are today alongside her former husband, James Morgan. After raising her children, she later remarried to Leon. E Pryor devoted her time to caring for both her mother and grandchildren, a representation of her caring personality. She enjoyed cooking, drawing, painting, and tending to her beautiful garden and flowers.

As a devoted Christian and ally to anyone who needed her, Leverne lived a long and fruitful life, befriending many and leaving laughter and new ideas in her wake. Although we live short lives, she certainly did not allow hers to go to waste. Even though not abundant in riches and material things, our dear Leverne had a pure soul and a heart of gold. Although she will be missed terribly, she has moved on to the next stage of her existence. And has joined those who preceded her in death, together for eternity to live, and to cherish. Ms.Morgan is not dead, but rather living somewhere new with her father, Gradey Hardey Whaley. Mother, Mary Lou Pressley. Brothers Edd. M Boyce, Henry. L Boyce, Clifford. J Boyce, Hosia.
