Louis Edward McArver, affectionately known as "Peter" or "Monk," peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories. He was born on May 23, 1952, to the late Edward Horace McArver and Bernice Caldwell.
Louis was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. A true lover of Christ, he read his scripture and would make you read it too. He never missed an opportunity to share stories of "the good old days," bringing history to life through his unique perspective and memories. His family's lineage, traditions, and history held a special place in his heart. Like many strong men of his generation, Louis wore resilience on the outside and tenderness within. Known for his bold personality and straightforward approach, Louis never hesitated to tell it like it was. While his honesty was sometimes mistaken for toughness, those fortunate enough to know him well understood that beneath his strong exterior was a deeply caring man whose kindness, love, and pure heart were the foundation of his life. An avid outdoorsman, he loved spending time fishing, watching animal & westerns television shows, and cultivating his back yard garden year after year. Those who knew him will remember his deep appreciation for the outdoors, his generous spirit, and the wisdom he shared through his experiences. Louis spent part of his career at the Malibu Steel Mill in Columbus, Ohio.
His passion for automobiles also led him to a longtime career as an auto mechanic, where his skill, knowledge, and love for cars allowed him to help countless people throughout the years. Above all, Louis treasured his family.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Horace McArver and Bernice (Moorehead) Caldwell, and his sisters, Stella "Nancy" Montgomery and Denna McArver-Walker.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved Children: Pamela S. Lowery, Quincy D. Davis (Margaret), Quinetta Davis, and Marshall Louis McArver. He was a proud Grandfather to Makayla Latimore, Christopher Moore, Madison Ferguson, Quincy Davis, Jr., Kyanne Davis, Amelia Davis, Jashawn Sims Ross, Quinelle Sims Ross, Quintin Martin Davis, and Janice Sims Ross.
