Lourie Gean Jackson was born on August 27, 1948, to David Hill Jr. and Vera Lee Hill in Bonita, Louisiana. She entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. A devoted Christian, Lourie accepted Christ at an early age. She graduated from Union High School in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, and furthered her education at Grambling State University. She retired from the State of Ohio after 25+ years of service.
Lourie married the love of her life, Leroy Jackson, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years. Together, they had two children: Kurt Hill and Yolanda Jackson. An active member of Union Baptist Church in Urbancrest, OH, Lourie was well-known for her exceptional baking skills, particularly her cakes. She shared her love with everyone around her through daily prayers, calls, texts and always lifting others up.
Affectionately known as "Skinny," Lourie loved to dance, especially to her favorite song, "Green Onions." She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who cherished her family above all else. Her passion for shopping and finding the perfect gift for everyone was matched only by her love of good romantic novels and traveling.
Lourie was preceded in death by her father, David Hill Jr.; her mother, Vera Lee Hill; and two brothers, Troy C. Hill and Horace Allen Hill.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Leroy Jackson of Reynoldsburg, OH. her children, Kurt (Nakia) Hill of Reynoldsburg, OH and Yolanda Jackson of Canal Winchester, OH; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Lourie is also survived by her four sisters: Precious (Huserl) Hicks and Gwendolyn Anderson, both of Detroit, Michigan; Evelyn Bivins of Milwaukee, WI; Glenda Sue (Victor) Hill of Bonita, La; one brother, Ricky (Patricia) Hill of Milwaukee, WI; one brother-in-law, Joe (Pam) Jackson of San Antonio, TX; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Jackson of Gahanna, OH; and Elizabeth Jackson of Indiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Additionally, her bonus sisters, Barbara Scates of Detroit, MI and Patricia James Dantzler of Chicago, IL
Lourie's legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
