Luther G. Hutchinson Jr. a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, transitioned on May 16, 2026 at the age of 84. Luther was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Luther G. Hutchinson Sr. and Nannie Bell Hutchinson on December 25, 1941.

Luther graduated from East High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Corporal, having earned the Rifle Marksman qualification. He was very proud to be a U.S. Marine.

Luther also obtained a certificate of photography from The Ohio State University. He was Baptized at Mt. Period Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.

Luther was employed at Buckeye Steel, and then at White -Westinghouse until the plant closed. He also worked at Grant Hospital, Children's Hospital, ProCare and lastly Owens-Illinois, later known as Techneglas where he remained until his retirement.

Luther was a provider and protector for his family. He loved his three children and his grandchildren and he supported them all in their endeavors whenever he could.

He enjoyed talking about his time in the service to anyone who would take the time to listen. Luther loved going to the rifle range, air shows, Air Force museums, gun shows, historical sites and yard sales. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing. and cooking. Luther was a life-long Cleveland Browns Fan.

Wherever he went, Luther met no stranger. He was the life of the party.

Luther is preceded in death by his parents: Luther G. Hutchinson Sr. and Nannie Bell Hutchinson; sisters: Shirley P. Gooding and Nelda Hutchinson; cousins: Lon B. Nichols and Katherine Nichols and best friend: Nathaniel Noble.

Luther leaves to cherish memory, his Loving Wife of 43 years: Bonita; children, Son: Mark Hutchinson; Daughters: Michelle Hutchinson and Audrey Hutchinson (Neimiah); Sister: Alberta Stockdale; Grandchildren: Jalen Hutchinson (Kira), Celeste Hutchinson, Isaiah Hutchinson, Royal Simons, and Royce Simons; very Close Friends: Van Womack and Brenda Haynes and a host of Nieces, Nephews , Cousins and friends.
