Lynda Joyce Holland

Lynda Joyce Holland, 72, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born on September 8, 1952, in Chillicothe, OH, to Jack and Nellie Lynch. She was the third of six girls born to Nellie. After graduating from Linden McKinley High School, Lynda held various professions throughout her life. She worked as a dental assistant at Dr. Preston’s Dental practice. She later joined Labor Locals Union 423 and began working as a flagger at different construction sites at a time when there were very few, if any, women in the industry. She finished her career as an in-home health aide before retiring.

Lynda had the best sense of humor. When she gave you a gift, a card, or a greeting, it didn’t just make you smile, it made you laugh out loud. Her wedding to John on April Fool’s Day also showed her sense of humor. Lynda loved playing Bid Whist on the weekends with family and friends. She also had a love for old Westerns such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Rawhide, to name a few. Lynda was not a huge sports fan, but she was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and she loved teasing her son Michael whenever his Cowboys lost. Although Lynda was small in stature compared to her other sisters, she had no problem taking care of herself. She had her concealed carry weapons (CCW) license, enjoyed the gun range, and collected firearms.

Lynda is survived by her son, Michael (Rhonda) Anderson, Jr., bonus son, John "Peanut" Holland III, bonus daughter, Beonita “Peaches” Holland, sisters Lanell Reese, Lola Tatum, Nola (Michael) Shelton, Colleen (Kermal), Hunt, grandson Michael Anderson, bonus grandsons Paul “Snuk” and Jonathan Smith, bonus grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, John Holland, Jr., sister, Jacquelyn "Sue" Lynch, and her parents, Jack and Nellie Lynch.
