A Tribute to Martha Jewel Hairston
LIFE AND PERSONALITY OF MARTHA HAIRSTON
Martha Jewel Hairston, of Columbus, Ohio made her transition on April 23rd, 2026 at age 80, leaving behind a world that is objectively full of her loved ones, but having a spiritual reunion filled with even more Love, those that long awaited and divinely welcomed her with open arms.
Born on July 16, 1945 to Leila and Jimmy Moreland, Martha spent her life proving that "well-behaved women seldom make history" (though she did ensure she was polite and kind to people).
Martha had a great impact on those in her life. Always leaving a nice impression on peoples hearts. Although, she was known for giving a look that will freeze you in your tracks, and give you a quick comeback, enjoyed storytelling about her past family experiences, she had an infectious laugh and a love for orange slices, jelly beans, three musketeers candy bar and not so appreciative of peanut butter!
CAREER AND FAMILY
Her career as a Home Health Agency Manager and COTA bus driver was only outshone by her true passion: Sewing, music, being around people, and making people laugh.
