Martha Wilson January 25, 1952 - March 29, 2025 Martha Wilson, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering support for her family and community.
Born on January 25, 1952, to Thelma B. Wilson and John Lee Wilson, Martha lived a life full of meaningful work and relationships. She pursued her passion for science at Wittenberg University, earning a degree in Biology with a focus on pre-medical studies. Martha began her career in the nursery at Toledo Hospital, where her nurturing spirit made an early impact. She later transitioned to a long and successful career at Ohio Bell, where she worked for 40 years before retiring. Retirement didn't slow her down - she continued to serve her community through roles with Columbus City Schools and the Franklin County Board of Elections. An active member of the Dedicated Senior Center,
Martha found joy in arts and crafts, card games, bingo, and participating in Shi Chong. Her life was filled with creativity, laughter, and a commitment to staying connected and engaged.
Though Martha never had children of her own, she was a devoted and loving presence in the lives of her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sisters, Shelia Welch, Krista Lockette Parr, Lorna Wilson, and Rochelle Anderson; as well as 14 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews - all of whom knew her as a place of safety, comfort, and unconditional love.
Martha Wilson was the kind of person who always held space for others - a quiet anchor in times of need, a joyful companion in times of celebration, and a steadfast presence in the lives of those lucky enough to know her. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
