Mary Louise ColesMary Louise Coles passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 5, 2026 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.Mary, affectionately known as Louise by family, was born December 13, 1960 to Joseph Lee and Mary Jean Coles of Columbus, Oh. She was the ninth of ten children, 4 sons, six daughters.Mary graduated from East High School. She was an employee of Mount Carmel Hospital for approximately 32 years. She was certified in sterile processing. At work, Mary enjoyed passing out candy.Mary also enjoyed crocheting and doing puzzles. She also relaxed by watching movies and her number one show “1,000 lb Sisters”!Mary had a cat named “Rocky” that she loved dearly and also spoiled with toys and food. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch, waiting for a visit from the hummingbird that visited every evening. While fixing her coffee, she enjoyed looking out the kitchen window at a family of deer in her backyard. She truly loved nature.Mary departed this life to join many of her loved ones including her son, Devaughn Coles, her parents, Joseph and Mary Jean Coles, sisters, Martha (Johnny) Wright, Dianne Coles, Catherine (Willard) Parnell, brother Larry Coles, nieces, Kimberly, Kathy and Ashley Coles, nephews Fred Lee and Dishon Coles, and great nephew Teddy McGrapth.Mary leaves to rejoice in her memory her daughter’s Valerie Coles, Angela Coles, and son, Mark Coles, granddaughters Alaja Coles, Ta’Liya Fluellen, Jamila Long and Gloryanna Coles, great grandchildren, Brielle and Bennett, siblings Joseph (Teresa) Coles, Richard Coles, Inez Poindexter, Barbara (Bruce) Norton and Charles Coles, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones and friends, all of Ohio.“A prayer for tomorrow”Take me as high as you want me to go Lord…Make me whatever you want me to be…Lift me above my own narrow horizon,That I might fulfill your true vision for me.B.J.
